"Nothing To Us" was recorded live at Hope Church in Douglassville, PA.....sung by the choir with the congregation joining in to sing the last chorus! "Nothing To Us" is based on the teachings of Jesus, especially "The Sermon On The Mount" in Matthew 5, "The Sheep And The Goats (The Least Of These)" in Matthew 25 and "The Parable Of The Good Samaritan" in Luke 10. A taste of the lyrics: "We only love Jesus as much as the ones we love the least"....."Let no one be nothing to us"....."We can change the world if we become His tools, let us do for others as we know He'd do, reaching out to meet the needs of fellow man, seeking chances to be Jesus' helping hands"....."Let's walk in His steps."
Thanks to wonderful a speaker, Guy Doud, the 1986 National Teacher of the Year, for being God's instrument of inspiration for "Nothing To Us." I heard Guy on a Focus On The Family radio broadcast, and he mentioned that his college roommate had a poster of a homeless drunk with a headline that said, "You love Jesus only as much as the person you love the least." I was also inspired by Charles Sheldon's terrific book, "In His Steps - What Would Jesus Do?" Since Sheldon's book was first published in 1896, it has sold more than 30 million copies and ranks as one of the best-selling books of all time.
